The New England Silver Gloves Championship!!!!! 

November 16th and the 17th 

This is an annual competition for Team New England. With an advancing and a Non Advancing brackets. The contest is sponsored by Private Jewels Boxing Club, MA and Fight Factory, RI.

 The advancing brackets Winners will advance to Regional Tournament in Danvers Ma, at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel on January 10th thought the 12th, to represent team New England, The New England Champion will Get a Certified USA Boxing Belt ( Must Fight @ least one time to receive The Award).

 The New England Silver Gloves Location is at Fight Factory 3 Bridal Ave West Warwick RI, 02893. There is a $10.00 Dollars Registration fee for each boxer that wants to compete in the tournament, Please on the Note input The Boxers Full Name.  

This tournament is for ages 8 through 17 years of age, They have to be 17th before January 1, 2025.

REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY

All entries for the New England Silver Gloves Tournament must be submitted via the online registration form: 

Entry deadline:  Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at 3:00pm (entries will only be accepted via online registration).

BOXERS:

The tournament is open to male and female boxers 8-years old to 17-years old.  Boxers must be no younger than 8 years of age at the start of the tournament and no older than 17 at the completion of the tournament.

• All boxers must be currently registered with USA boxing.  Before weighing in, all boxers must present their passbook with 2024 membership card showing a verified date of birth and a current athlete physical which is valid for the date of competition (i.e., documents must be uploaded to USA Boxing membership profile in advance)

Coaches: 

All coaches must be registered (membership fee paid) and certified (clinic attended/test completed) with USA Boxing.  Current SafeSport certification and a completed and cleared background check is also required for all coaches.  Coaches will not be permitted to work a corner unless they are fully registered and certified, and only 2 coaches are allowed in a corner.  

DEADLINE, REVIEW OF ENTRIES & TOURNAMENT DRAW

TOURNAMENT DRAW: 

The tournament draw will be held live on Facebook on November 11th during the evening (time to be announced)

If two or more novice boxers from the same gym are competing in the same weight class and if the draw results in those boxers competing in the first round, there will be a single re-draw.  There will be no re-draw for the open class.

AGE DIVSIONS, WEIGHT CLASSES, and WEIGH-INS

Only Novice (ages 8-17) boxers have a 2lb weight allowance. No allowance for any other divisions That is Advancing. 

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

• In the Elite age division:
  • Novice class boxers have not more than 9 bouts.
  • Open class boxers have 10 or more bouts.
• Boxers must declare only one division and may not compete in multiple divisions or weight classes.
• Athletes who have competed in other amateur combat/striking sports (e.g., MMA, kickboxing) are required to compete in the open class and may NOT enter as novice without permission from USA Boxing.  For information on how to request a waiver for this rule please contact Chief of Officials Stephen Clark at 978-807-1700.

WALKOVERS and AWARDS, and SUBSTITUTIONS

• A boxer must compete at least once in the tournament to be eligible for advancement or awards.  
• Boxers can be awarded a trophy, medal, etc. only if they have competed at least once during the tournament.  He or she must weigh-in and can only be awarded the championship title if they win in the ring or if their scheduled opponent has pulled out.  Only in that case can a boxer win by walkover.:
